It actually did help me score higher on our first quiz. The author states in plain English what the textbook dances around. It doesn't replace a textbook, but it allows you to see the "big picture" of what you're dealing with. Also, the review sections on Algebra are really helpful since I've been out of school for a while and you've got to have Algebra down pat to perform the PreCalculus work. I needed something to help me prepare for my college algebra and trig class and this was the perfect selection. The author is avoids using fancy math lingo and explains everything in an easy format. It really feels like I have personal tutor and honestly, this book is probably better than some professors who teach college math classes. I would recommend this book to ANYONE who struggled with college algebra and pre-cal or needs a refresher in this subject for any entrance exams (nursing, etc). ...more
