Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-06-25 Summary: Calculus Book Review ... The textbook arrived very quickly and was in great condition! It is just like brand-new. I am so happy, and grateful to the seller. Thank you so much! ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-05-01 Summary: Larson/Edwards Calculus ... I was looking for a good refresher on Calculus and among my collection of books, I had another Larson Title on pre-calculus which was found to be a very good read. My older Calculus book by Schenk is less fluid and to my delight, this book, "Calculus" by Larson and Edwards, like the "PreCalculus with Limits" by Larson and Hostetler, is easily assimilated. The book is well sectioned and the explanatory text is clear, building naturally upon previous material and backed by a good cadre of examples. This book works with ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-03-30 Summary: A good book for undergraduate Calculus. ... Calculus by Larson,Hostetler, Edwards book was the series of books I used in my undergraduate Calc 1-3 classes. Quick Summary: Pros: Good number of exercises, *some* good examples, lots of illustrations, lots of good guidelines and formula sheets. Cons: Some not-so-great examples, some examples *should* add more algebra steps, 3 editions in 7 years necessary, cost of book-per-class versus 3-set volume is absurd. Full Review: All in all I think this book was pretty good through the year and a half run I had for calculus ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-07 Summary: INNOVATIVE AT THE INTERMEDIATE LEVEL ... This review is done from the perspective of one who is either learning or teaching Calculus II and Calculus III. In this volume, Larson and Edwards have laid out elaborate examples in terms of how applications of the integral are carried out. Accompanied with WebAssign, the text information provides three-dimensional modeling such as the highly-enhanced computer graphics that enable one to see how space is occupied not just in the Cartesian (x-y) plane but also the surfaces that require x-y-z coordinates as well as ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-07-20 Summary: Awesome book! ... Although I am only about 10% into this book it seems great. I have not had the same experience that the other poster had with the bad graphics on kindle. I have been looking for a single book for a long time that will start with algebra and end up with calculus. I think that I have found it with this one! ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-05-02 Summary: Good, but needs to be proofread ... This book is very ambitious, and I applaud the author for his hard work. My only gripe with the book is the dodgy grammar and imprecise or incorrect wording (for example, "a part of" and "apart of" have exactly opposite meanings). Get someone to proofread it for you, and you'll have a top notch book! ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-12-03 Summary: Charge More!!! ... Wow, finally an easy to understand approach at Calculus. A wealth of knowledge for such a small price, well worth a much higher price. [4] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-11-15 Summary: great book ... This book was completly different from the other math books I've seen. I have been out of school for a while and was never very good with mathematics to begin with. So going back to math class was very worrisome. This book began with addition and then gave a really good algebra section and then continued through everything I needed to get to calculus in an easy way. It really developed everything I needed to know without having to look at other books. I even understood the applications section (Haha, I can do rocket ...more
